 The cooler weather has finally hit us but that has only enhanced the already high quality of play and the closeness of the entire competition can be judged by the large number of so-called “upset” results that occurred over the weekend and caused several changes to the look of the various tables.

 

 

IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 1 – Overview (G12-G18)

Blacktown City were able to snatch fourteen points from their encounter with Sydney United 58 without losing a game while Sydney Olympic bagged thirteen points from their clash with Rockdale City Suns.

South Coast Wolves enjoyed their day as they collected twelve points from their six matches against Bonnyrigg White Eagles and Blacktown Spartans also gained a dozen points when they met Central Coast Mariners.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers earned ten points when they faced Manly United while Marconi Stallions and Sutherland Sharks shared the spoils at eight points apiece.

 

IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 1 – Club Championship

Sutherland Sharks began the day as the leaders on this table by a margin of two points and they faced Marconi Stallions who were in eighth position. When the Sharks shared the points at six apiece with the Stallions, Sutherland retained their place at the top of the ladder while Marconi remained at eighth.

Blacktown Spartans kicked off the weekend in second spot and they were up against Central Coast Mariners who were placed twelfth on the table. The Spartans and the Mariners took six points each from these four matches and that was enough to ensure that they both stayed exactly where they were and the table.

Blacktown City came into this round placed third while their opponents were Sydney United 58 and they were in sixth position. While City have inched closer to the top two, they have remained at third after they earned ten points from their meeting with United who have slipped back to eighth.

Placed fourth before a ball was kicked on the weekend, APIA Leichhardt Tigers hosted Manly United who were only three points behind the Tigers at fifth. The Tigers collected only four points from these matches and so they have dropped back to fifth while Manly have moved up the ladder and they are now fourth.

Sydney Olympic arrived at this round in seventh spot while Rockdale City Suns were placed eleventh on the table. Olympic jumped into sixth spot when they took nine points from their encounter with the Suns who are still in eleventh position.

Before a ball was kicked Bonnyrigg White Eagles were in ninth place and South Coast Wolves were in tenth position. When they White Eagles and the Wolves shared the spoils at six points each, both clubs remained where they were on the ladder.

At kick-off time Manly United were the competition leaders on goal difference with a perfect record of six wins from as many matches while APIA Leichhardt Tigers were placed fifth with three wins and a draw coming from seven matches. Manly were able to keep a hold on the top spot when they produced their seventh successive victory, a 2-0 result thanks to a goal in each half while the Tigers have dropped back to sixth place.

Blacktown City started the day in second spot and they had an unblemished record of six wins from six games while Sydney United 58 were sixth with three wins and a draw coming from their six outings. City remained where they were on the table when they came up with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over United who have fallen back to seventh.

Placed third when this week’s match began, Blacktown Spartans had produced five wins and a draw from seven matches while Central Coast Mariners were in twelfth position with just one draw to show for their six games. When the Spartans were 3-1 winners they stayed at third and the Mariners have remained at the foot of the table. Scoring the goals for the Spartans were J. Bellardi, N. O’Brien and N. Dunshea while C. Windout found the net for the Mariners.

Sutherland Sharks arrived at this match in fourth place after they had posted four wins and a draw from their six matches and Marconi Stallions were in ninth position with two wins to show for their seven games. The Sharks suffered a 2-1 loss but they were able to hang onto fourth place while the Stallions have moved up to eighth. Scoring for the Stallions were E. Klein and M. Self and J. Mitsoulas netted for the Sharks.

South Coast Wolves kicked off this week’s match in seventh place with two wins and two draws coming from their six games and Bonnyrigg White Eagles were just one point further back at eighth after they had registered two wins and a draw from seven matches. This week the Wolves collected their third win with a 2-1 scoreline and they are now in fifth position while Bonnyrigg have slipped back to ninth. Bonnyrigg’s goal was scored by M. Krljar. 

With a win and a draw coming from seven matches, Sydney Olympic  came into this match in tenth position and Rockdale City Suns were placed eleventh and they had just one draw to show for their seven outings. The Suns posted their first three-pointer for the season when they produced a 2-0 result thanks to a goal in each half. They have now swapped places with Olympic on the ladder.

Sutherland Sharks were the competition frontrunners by a single point when the first whistle sounded after they had completed six matches without dropping a point while Marconi Stallions were third with four wins and three draws coming from their eight games. The Sharks have extended their competition lead to three points following their solid 6-1 success this week and the Stallions have fallen back to fourth. Sutherland’s goals were scored by T. Pantzouris (2), K. Grozos (2), J. Papagelis and D. Papoulias while Marconi’s goal came from M. Parenta.

Unbeaten Blacktown City were sitting in second spot at kick-off time with five wins and two draws to show for their seven games while Sydney United 58 were placed ninth after they had registered three wins and a draw from six matches. City have retained second place after they were held to a 2-2 draw by United who have remained at ninth.

Starting the day in fourth place, Blacktown Spartans had recorded four wins and a draw from eight matches and Central Coast Mariners were in tenth position after they had posted two wins and a draw from eight outings. When the Spartans came up with a 3-1 result they promptly climbed into third place and left the Mariners at tenth. Scoring a hat-trick for the Spartans was R. Mehinovic and S. Macey scored the goal for the Mariners.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers arrived at this match in fifth position and they had collected their points from three wins and three draws in the eight games they had played while Manly United were just one point behind the Tigers at sixth with three wins and two draws to show for their seven matches. Manly claimed fifth place when they were 2-1 winners this week and that result has caused the Tigers to tumble back to eighth. Manly’s goals came from B. Kemp who netted twice and the Tigers’ goal came from N. Lai.

South Coast Wolves came into this match in seventh spot and their six matches had produced three wins and two draws while Bonnyrigg White Eagles were eleventh with two wins coming from their eight games. The Wolves have moved up to sixth after they claimed the points with a 3-1 scoreline and Bonnyrigg have remained at eleventh. The goals for the Wolves came from J. Levy, J. Hooper and J. Gjorsevski while P. Drca netted for Bonnyrigg.

Placed eighth at kick-off time, Sydney Olympic had come up with three wins and a draw from seven games and they were up against twelfth placed Rockdale City Suns who had just one win from eight matches. Olympic collected maximum points for the fourth time when they were 5-0 winners this week and they are now in seventh position and the Suns are still twelfth.

At kick-off time Blacktown Spartans had a lead of two points at the top of the table after they had produced six victories from eight games while Central Coast Mariners were fifth and they had three wins and two draws to show for their eight outings. However, the Spartans have dropped back to second place after they suffered a 1-0 loss this week and that has allowed the Mariners to remain at fifth.

Sydney Olympic came into this match in second spot with five wins and a draw coming from seven matches and seventh placed Rockdale City Suns had registered three wins and a draw from eight games. Olympic jumped into the competition lead when they posted a 5-2 win this week after leading 3-0 at the break. That result has forced the Suns to drop back to ninth.

Sutherland Sharks started the day in fourth position after they had produced four wins and a draw from six matches and they were up against twelfth placed Marconi Stallions who had recorded just one win from eight games. The Sharks climbed into third place when they produced a 3-0 victory, an outcome that has left the Stallions at twelfth. Sutherland’s goals were scored by H. Callahan, P. Tegg and T. Kumsuz.

Blacktown City came into this match in sixth spot with three wins and two draws coming from six games while Sydney United 58 were eleventh and their points had come from two wins and a draw after six outings. City remained at sixth after they recorded a 2-1 win over United who have stayed where they were on the ladder.

Bonnyrigg White Eagles were in ninth position when this game kicked off and they had a record of two wins and three draws from seven matches while South Coast Wolves were in thirteenth position with just one draw to show for their six games. Bonnyrigg scooted up to seventh when they were 4-2 winners this week and that has left the Wolves at the foot of the table. The goals for Bonnyrigg were scored by C. Obeid (2), D. Mallia and A. Pethyon while E. Kamura scored both goals for the Wolves

APIA Leichhardt Tigers were leading the way on the competition table on goal difference after they had registered five wins and a draw from eight matches and Manly United were placed tenth with a win and three draws coming from their seven games. The Tigers now have a one point advantage at the top of the table following their 2-1 victory over Manly who have slipped back to twelfth place. The goals for the Tigers were scored by J. Koton and M. Lee.

Blacktown Spartans were right behind the Tigers in second spot when the first whistle sounded and they had also produced five wins and a draw from eight matches while the twelfth placed Central Coast Mariners had recorded a wins and a draw from eight games. However, this week the Spartans have tumbled back to fifth after they suffered a 2-0 loss to the Mariners who have risen to tenth position.

Sutherland Sharks came into this round in third position thanks to their record of five wins from six outings and Marconi Stallions were in sixth spot after they had produced four wins and a draw from eight matches. The Sharks dropped back to sixth when they were beaten 1-0 by the Stallions who have shot up to fourth place.

Bonnyrigg White Eagles started the day in fourth place with five wins from seven games and South Coast Wolves were in thirteenth place and they had come up with just one draw from their six games. Bonnyrigg climbed into second spot thanks to their 1-0 success over the Wolves who are still at the foot of the table. The winning goal was netted by D. Mallia.

Placed fifth at kick-off time, Blacktown City had four wins and a draw to show for their six games and seventh placed Sydney United 58 had taken maximum points from four of their six matches. City jumped to third when they came up with a 1-0 scoreline over United who are still in seventh spot.

Rockdale City Suns arrived at this match in ninth place after they had registered two wins and a draw from eight games while Sydney Olympic were eleventh with two wins from seven matches. The Suns dropped back to eleventh when they suffered a 3-0 loss to Olympic who are now in ninth position.

When this week’s match kicked off Central Coast Mariners were unbeaten and they had a lead of four points at the top of the table thanks to a record of six wins and two draws from eight games while Blacktown Spartans were in sixth spot with four wins to show for their eight outings. The Mariners tasted defeat for the first time on the weekend when the Spartans came up with a 1-0 win. That has left the Mariners in the top spot but it was not enough to lift the Spartans from sixth.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers started the day in second spot after they had produced five wins and a draw from eight matches while eighth placed Manly United had registered three wins and a draw from eight games. The Tigers produced a strong 5-1 result to retain second place and that has left Manly at eighth. Providing the goals for the Tigers were L. Scott (3), M. Nezval and G. Blackwood while M. Ireland netted for Manly.

Sydney Olympic had come up with five wins from seven matches before they faced up to eleventh placed Rockdale City Suns who had two wins and a draw to show for their seven games. Olympic posted their sixth win with a 1-0 result over the Suns and that result has left Olympic at third and the Suns at eleventh.

Blacktown City were placed fifth at kick-off time after they had taken their points from four wins and two draw in their eight games while Sydney United 58 were tenth with two wins and two draws coming from six matches. City moved up to fourth when they were 2-0 winners this week and that has left United at tenth.

Sutherland Sharks came into this match in ninth place and they had recorded two wins and two draws from seven games while Marconi Stallions were in thirteenth place and they were yet to open their account for the season. When this clash ended in a 1-1 draw the Sharks and the Stallions stayed exactly where they were on the ladder and Marconi finally have their first point for the season. Sutherland’s goal came from D. Akol and J. Bolzan scored for the Stallions.

When this encounter was locked up at 1-1 when the final whistle sounded, City slipped back to second place and United climbed to seventh.

Blacktown Spartans were in second spot and they had also take five wins and two draws from eight games while ninth placed Central Coast Mariners had secured three wins and a draw from eight matches. The Spartans claimed the top spot this week thanks to their 2-0 win over the Mariners who have fallen back to tenth. The goals for the Spartans were scored by J. Douglas and J. Currie.

Sydney Olympic had recorded four wins and a draw from seven matches and they were placed fifth. Before they faced thirteenth placed Rockdale City Suns who had just one draw to show for their seven outings. Olympic moved up to fourth after they battled out a scoreless draw with the Suns who are still at the foot of the table.

The Stallions slipped back to sixth after they battled out a 2-2 draw with the Sharks after coming from behind. Sutherland are still in eleventh position. Marconi’s gaols were scored by A. Razman and S. Azzam while J. Hughes and N. Roberts netted for the Sharks.

South Coast Wolves kicked off this match in tenth place with a record of three wins from seven outings and Bonnyrigg White Eagles were twelfth with just two draws coming from their seven games.  When the Wolves posted a 1-0 win they immediately shot up to ninth place and that has left Bonnyrigg at twelfth. The winning goal was scored by M. Ledwidge.
