IGA NPL NSW Grade 20s Round 10 Preview
The Blacktown derby headlines a big weekend of Grade 20s action.
The second versus third match on Sunday between Marconi Stallions and Sydney United 58 FC is also one to watch.
SATURDAY
Blacktown Spartans vs Blacktown City FC, 5pm at Blacktown Football Park
The Blacktown derby sees two evenly matched sides go head to head on Saturday evening.
Spartans have been inconsistent, attacking with aplomb but leaking too many goals at the back.
Blacktown City meanwhile have recovered from an indifferent start to the season and have put together some impressive recent performances
South Coast Wolves vs APIA Leichhardt Tigers, 5pm at John Crehan Park
South Coast Wolves lifted themselves off the bottom of the table with a win at Sydney Olympic last weekend.
APIA Leichhardt beat top of the table Rockdale City Suns, giving a true indication of their ability. They are a tidy side, but will have to be on top of their game on the South Coast.
SUNDAY
Sydney Olympic FC vs Bonnyrigg White Eagles, 1pm at Belmore Sports Ground
Sydney Olympic FC are rooted to the foot of the table after being beaten by South Coast last weekend.
Bonnyrigg have been inconsistent thus far and were well beaten by Sydney United 58 in their last match.
They do contain within their ranks one of the shining lights of the competition in striker Nikola Todoroski and they should be good enough to get over the line here.
Manly United FC vs Sutherland Sharks, 1pm at Cromer Park
Manly United have been creeping up the table recently and some strong results have seen Nick Tomaino’s side end up just one point outside the top five.
Their weekend opponents, Sutherland Sharks, occupy fifth place and are also coming into good form.
This is a match that will certainly be a barometer of what both sides can expect from their seasons.
Rockdale City Suns vs Central Coast Mariners Academy, 1pm at Ilinden Sports Centre
Rockdale City remain at the top of the table despite going down to APIA Leichhardt on the weekend.
They have a two point buffer over second place, one they will look to retain or extend given the Mariner’s recent poor form.
After a lightning start to the season, the Mariners have fallen away in recent weeks but they are still part of a cluster of teams on 12 points.
Marconi Stallions vs Sydney United 58 FC, 1pm at Marconi Stadium
Second plays third in this match-up between Marconi Stallions and Sydney United 58 FC.
Marconi are a slick attacking outfit spearheaded by Harry Brown and Mark Cindric, who plays against his former club.
Sydney United 58 are a well drilled outfit though and were clinical in beating Bonnyrigg last weekend.
