Football NSW Development Officer, Ken Greenhead, headed out to Blacktown International Sports Park on Friday 31st May to assist Special Olympics run football activities throughout their Gala Day.
In what turned out to be a great day over 150 kids from 7 different schools had the opportunity to participate in various activities across football, athletics, rugby league and bocce.
After an enthusiastic warm up by Ken the kids were primed to tackle the activities of the day. Throughout the day the participants took part in a number of football drills and games which had learning the finer points of football as well as slotting goals. The games were played in great spirit which was seen on the smiles of all kids involved.
The day was completed with a Volunteers vs. Students football match.  In what was a tight affair the game ended in a 1-all draw. It was an exceptional match with some exquisite skills on show as well as plenty of laughs. The game was a perfect finish to an extremely successful day.
Football NSW congratulates Special Olympics who organised the day, especially Danielle Seisun. A big thank you must go to Disney Australia who provided 40 volunteers who created an enjoyable atmosphere for the kids.
Football NSW would also like to thank Ken for the great work he did in providing a wonderful day for all participants.
