There was a change at the top of the table in the Women’s NPL NSW competition after round 11 of action.

Manly’s defeat saw them drop from first to fourth in  only a few hours and Sydney University hit the top of the league again.

Macarthur Rams 3-0 North Shore Mariners

Macarthur Rams easily accounted for the North Shore Mariners under the lights at Lynwood Park.

Leena Khamis opened the scoring in the first half before Georgia Yeoman-Dale doubled the lead in the second half with a sublime strike.

Rosie Galea rounded up the 3-0 score line with a fine goal of her own.

Macarthur had the first chance of this one after four minutes.

A fantastic ball from midfield by Kylie Ledbrook found Kate Hensman wide right. The winger crossed early for Georgia Yeoman-Dale but she couldn’t get a connection onto the ball in what would’ve been a certain goal.

Again the Rams threatened four minutes later, this time through Teresa Polias who sent a pile driver toward goal, only for the ball to smack against the cross bar.

Macarthur’s pressure paid off in the 19th minute.

A fine cross from the right by Caitlin Campbell found Khamis at the back post as the striker volleyed the ball into the back of the net.

Hensman should’ve made it two on 17 minutes but Casey Dumont made a good save.

Yeoman-Dale was in with another fantastic chance on 23 minutes as Khamis played her in with smart through ball, only for Dumont to save the striker’s effort.

Campbell’s crosses were proving a danger as this time she found Rose Galea at the far post but the youngster couldn’t get her shot on target.

A Rams mix up at the back should’ve had the Mariners level on 30 minutes but Teigen Collister couldn’t hit an empty goal.

The away side threatened again in the 34th minute, Collister playing in Hannah Peric but the latter completely fluffed her lines, causing Sham Khamis no problems.

Yeoman-Dale was rewarded for her persistence in the 53rd minute, letting fly with a volley from about 30m out and catching Dumont off her line.

Daisy Arrowsmith had a golden chance to pull a goal back in the 69th minute but Sham Khamis saved well with her legs.

The Rams went the other way and made it 3-0.

Rosaria Galea let fly from outside the box with a powerful effort, giving Dumont no chance in goal as the ball smacked the back of the net.

In the 84th minute Yeoman-Dale was in again after nice combination play with Hensman but the striker couldn’t hit the target.

In the 90th minute, Amy Sayer almost had the away fans on their feet, unleashing a rasping shot that smacked against the cross bar.

NWS Koalas 5-2 Blacktown Spartans

North West Sydney Koalas and Blacktown Spartans both needed points when they clashed at Christie Park.

It was the home side that came out of the blocks quicker, racing to a 2-0 lead at half time.

Blacktown made a battle of it in the second half but there was going to be just one winner on the day as the Koalas ran out 5-2 winner.

Princess Ibini-Isei picked up a brace while Erin Pridmore, Panayiota Petratos and Morgan Roberts all got on the scoresheet for the home team.

Eliza Amendolia’s goal scoring run continued for the Spartans as Alix Roberts also scored.

Sydney University 3-0 Manly United

It was the top of the table clash at Sydney University Football Ground as Sydney Uni welcomed Manly United.

And the home side had this one sorted after the first 45 minutes.

Three first half goals were enough for Uni to regain top spot on the ladder as Cortnee Vine and Rachel Soutar both found the back of the net.

Football NSW Institute 5-0 Bankstown City

Football NSW Institute was in the mood to continue their fine form when they took on Bankstown City.

The Lions were no match for the young side who piled five goals into the net of Renee Krstanovska.

Susan Phonsongkham scored two as Julia Vignes, Courtney Nevin  and Rachel Lowe all scored.

Illawarra Stingrays 3-1 Northern Tigers

At JJ Kelly Park, the Illawarra Stingrays took on the Northern Tigers.

Michelle Heyman made her return to the south coast as she faced her former team.

It wouldn’t be a happy return for the Matilda though as the Stingrays came away with all three points and a 3-1 win.

Hannah Beard and Michelle Carney scored first half goals to put the Stingrays 2-0 up at the break.

A goal to Talitha Kramer in the second period and a goal for Heyman against her former side gave us the full time 3-1 score line.

Sutherland Shire 1-3 Emerging Jets

Two winless sides clashed at Harrie Denning Centre as Sutherland Shire faced the Emerging Jets.

And it would be the travelling Jets that would come away with their first three points of the season with a 3-1 victory.

Kirsty Fenton, Sarah Moore and Bronte Peel all scored for the Jets while Sutherland captain Jordan Baker scored for the home side.
