Nads-Website-Story

NSW CHS Football provides opportunities for students in the secondary public school system in NSW to play for their schools in state wide knockout competitions, to represent their educational areas against other areas in the state, to gain selection in CHS teams and play against students from the private school sector, and ultimately to gain selection in NSW and Australian teams selected from secondary schools in both public and private sectors.

The tournament is separated into two sectors, that being boys & girl. The Girls competition was held in May 2018, with the full listings and results can be found here.

This week the boys commenced their campaign, with the tournament being held in the regional New South Wales town of Bathurst.

Day one of the competition began on Tuesday the 5th of June, with Sydney West & the NSWCHS Invitational team kicking things off. What was said to be an even contest saw Sydney West concede the only goal within the match, whilst it was a hard fought contest Riverina as they were defeated by Sydney South West 4 – 0.

Sydney East easily accounted for North West while Hunter and South Coast provided one of the days’ best games, Hunter scored late to record a solid 2-1 win.

In another tight fixture the NSWCHS invitational team defeated North Coast 1-0 in a game that could of gone either way.

Although it would be the match between Western & Riverina which would prove to be the days most entertaining fixture. A late goal for the Western side would see them secure the victory, despite Riverina’s best efforts to equalise the game, Western were able to escape with the win.

Sydney Western were able to defeat North Coast 3 – 0, while in a highly entertaining fixture Sydney North defeated Sydney East 1 – 0.

As the morning trickled into the afternoon, the high scoring affairs began to make their appearance as Sydney South West defeating Western 6 – 0, followed by South Coast defeating West Darling 9 – 0.

Day two of the competition commences day, with the results determining finals fixtures on Thursday the 7th of June 2018.
