Last chance to be part of Football NSW’s Football Medicine Conference
Registrations are closing this Friday for the inaugural Football Medicine Conference to be held at Valentine Sports Park on Sunday 19th November.
The latest in its ‘Capability Building’ activities, the Conference is aimed at doctors, physiotherapists, sports trainers, technical directors and coaches working in the NPL, State League and semi-professional competitions.
Head of Member Services, Community Football and Game Development, Peter Hugg stated how pleased he was with the interest to date.
“We have been overwhelmed by the response for this workshop, the third that we have run now as part of our desire to improve the capacity and capability of the football community in addressing the ever changing and challenging demands of the game.
“The line-up of presenters, including key staff from the various national teams, is second to none and it is particularly pleasing that Sports Medicine Australia have now endorsed the Conference. If our associations and clubs continue to support these activities as they are, we will do more in subjects and areas that are of concern and demand. Gauging from the interest to date, it appears that this Football Medicine Conference will become a popular annual event in our calendar”.
Topics being discussed at the Conference include:
- Developing a Player Welfare Culture
- Injuries in Football and Injury Prevention Strategies
- Load monitoring and Sports Science in Football
- Concussion
- Sudden Cardiac Arrests
- FIFA 11+ and its role in injury prevention
The program for the day is attached below with a full list of topics and presenters.
